GIADA Accomplishments ~ GIADA was either responsible for, or directly involved with the passing or blocking of the following laws below which have greatly impacted Georgia used car dealers, their businesses and their very future.
GIADA has also experienced significant growth in membership in the last four years. We have grown from 1,000 members in 2002 to over 2,100 members in 2006.
Currently, we are working very close with the Used Car Board, DOR - Department of Motor Vehicles, G.A.T.O., C.O.A.G.and co-developing training programs promoting productive communication for the dealer and tax officials tag agents.
We are also methodically attacking Georgia's 'Curbstoning' problem. These are illegal and/or un-licensed sales of used vehicles. Call the GIADA office for updated progress reports. Curbstoning has taken some hard hits in our state, but it will take each and every dealers support to really make a difference. It's not going away easily.
GIADA fought for wholesalers and auctions when new laws limited the amount of dealer tags based upon retail sales history. Now wholesalers and auctions can obtain additional tags needed to operate their businesses. Thanks are in order for GADA and Manheim Auctions getting involved to help fix a problem which would have resulted in severe consequences for many businesses.
